A School based traineeship allows you to complete paid, employment-based training whilst still at school. A school-based traineeship is suitable for students in Yr 10, 11 or 12 who want to gain a nationally recognised qualification, credit towards their HSC and one day per week of paid employment.

A traineeship program is a great pathway for further study or to gain on-the-job experience. Structured training can be completed within 12-36 months, either at the workplace, online or in classroom attendance. Competency-based completion can be attained through discussion with your host employer and RTO.

From 1 January 2015, if you are undertaking nationally recognised training (accredited courses) delivered by a registered training organisation (RTO), you will need to provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) and link it to Training @ Key
This applies if you are enrolling in single units of competency, skill sets, traineeships, and full or part qualifications. Learn more about the Unique Student Identifier at www.usi.gov.au
The USI Transcript Service was activated on 22 May 2017. USI account holders can now use their USI to access their national training record online in the form of a USI Transcript.
