Prior to his retirement, Stewart had been in Sales and Marketing positions for more than 40 years. His first position was in the toy industry where he progressed from a Sales Representative to Brand Manager. Eventually obtaining the position of Marketing Manager Tonka Toys Australia.
After leaving the Toy industry he managed his own sports agency for 10 years then a lifestyle change took him to Coffs Harbour, where he joined Key for 12 years before retiring and subsequently joining the Board.
