As part of Key’s Community Services, we offer a free registration service for employers from our local business community to list vacancies through our organisation.

Our goal is to provide your business with quality staff who fit in with your business needs. We support you through the process and can assist with training and development plans to ensure our clients become productive and valued members of your team.

We will continue to provide on the job support throughout the life of the placement to ensure longevity in the role and ensure the worker is able to meet your business needs.

Wage Subsidy (conditions apply)

The Inclusive Employment Australia Wage Subsidy has different levels based on the number of hours employment the Employer agrees to provide, on average each week, during the 26-week Wage Subsidy Agreement Term as outlined in the table below.

Inclusive Employment Australia Wage Subsidy Levels Maximum Value and Average Weekly Hours

  • Level 1 Up to $3,000 where the Employer agrees to provide Employment of 8 hours or more per week. *
  • Level 2 Up to $5,000 where the Employer agrees to provide Employment of 15 hours or more per week.
  • Level 3 Up to $7,500 where the Employer agrees to provide Employment of 20 hours or more per week.
  • Level 4 Up to $10,000 where:
    the Employer agrees to provide Employment of 30 hours or more per week OR
    the Employer agrees to provide Employment of 20 hours or more per week, if the Participant is aged under 25 years.

Wage Subsidy General Eligibility

A Wage Subsidy Employer must not be:

  • the Provider’s Own Organisation or a Related Entity of the Provider
  • an Australian, State or Territory Government entity
  • a local government entity, if the position is funded by an Australian, State or Territory Government entity
  • a Family Member of the Participant
  • a current or prior Employer or host business of the Participant (within the last 2 years)
  • suspended or excluded from receiving Wage Subsidies
  • of a type of character that would bring the Commonwealth Government into disrepute, including any conflicts of interest
  • an Employer who has recently retrenched or reduced the number of workers (or be proposing to do so) without providing satisfactory explanation to the Provider
  • a labour hire company or group training organisation, except where the below requirements are met, or
  • as otherwise advised by the Department.

Financial Support for Employers looking to employ an Apprentice or Trainee

Disability Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS) is a payment that assists employers of eligible Australian Apprentices with disability.

What is it?

DAAWS aims to encourage employers to provide Australian Apprenticeships to people with a permanent or temporary disability who are able to participate in open employment with suitable support and training.

The incentive is payable to an employer who employs an apprentice who satisfies the disability eligibility criteria. DAAWS is also available to employers who employ apprentices who become disabled during their apprenticeship

As an employer, you can receive $216.07 per week for a full-time Australian Apprentices, or on a pro-rata basis, according to the hours worked for a part-time Australian Apprentice.

Each year on 1 July, DAAWS payment rates will be adjusted in line with the March quarter Consumer Price Index (CPI) as published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

Am I eligible?

  • You must be paying your apprentice at least $216.07 per week, or its part-time equivalent for the duration of the wage support.
  • The DAAWS assessment must be undertaken by a registered medical practitioner or registered psychologist who is qualified to make a diagnosis of disability. This cannot be a school counsellor.
  • The assessment of the apprentice’s needs must be genuine and not based on third party advice, or as part of a bulk assessment.
  • Where the apprentice is under 18, they must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
