Key Community Group is a not-for-profit charity that is dedicated to helping people with disability and the disadvantaged participate to their fullest potential across their social, cultural, and economic lives.
Over the last 3 decades we have immersed ourselves in all the communities we work in. From Yamba to Kempsey our passion for community engagement is palpable and supported by our engaged and dedicated staff, without whom our mission would not be possible.
We are proud locals, who shop local, support local and invest in locals! Since 2010 we have invested more than 3 million dollars in communities along the Mid North Coast. We truly believe that the best way to make a difference is by being a real part of our community.
Our commitment to you goes beyond mere business transactions. Instead, we strive to create a collaborative and supportive environment that uplifts not only our participants and staff but the entire community we are dedicated to serving.
Together we can create a stronger community and we look forward to continuing our journey with you.
If you love the work we do, consider paying it forward and donate today. All donations will help us improve the lives of people within the Mid North Coast community who are experiencing disadvantage and will help change more lives!
Nestled in the seven-acre Coffs Central headquarters, Key has created a beautiful garden which is the regions only fully accessible pocket farm. Meeting the needs of people with illness, injury and disability the garden offers a safe and inclusive space for all community members.
The space includes a sensory garden, providing an area for reflection and mindfulness. There are rabbits, chooks and bees as well as a greenhouse and propagation area. There are lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs growing as well as some beautiful flowers. These are picked, packaged and sold by some of our NDIS participants at the Coffs Growers Markets and the Kempsey Riverside Markets regularly.
The garden is run completely off the grid. We harvest our own water, recycle everything and use solar power.
Key’s community garden is a place where people can share in the joys of gardening, learn new skills, make friends, and connect with community. It is open to the public 9am-3pm Monday to Friday and can be booked for private activities and functions be completing an enquiry form.
Key Community Group provides a FREE youth service to anyone aged between 12-22 years. Drop into any Key site between Yamba and Kempsey and one of our friendly youth workers will be available to help you with your employment, training or social needs.
At our headquarters in Coffs Harbour, we operate a FREE youth hub that includes office space, a kitchen, Wi-Fi and shower and wash facilities. The hub has been purposely designed to suit the needs of disengaged youth and allows us to support young people on more social levels.
The outdoor space at the hub includes two small-sided soccer fields, a tennis court and 2 basketball courts. Together with our community garden this space is relaxed and welcoming for all young people. It is a great place to hang with mates and be active.
The youth hub is completely free and is open to young people Monday-Friday 9am-3pm.
Our outdoor spaces are available at any time, and we welcome and encourage young people onto our site to shoot some hoops, play some tennis or just hang out. You are always welcome at Key; we’d love to see you onsite soon!
These spaces can also be booked for private functions, training or meetings by completing an enquiry form.
