Our story

The inspiration behind what we do at Key is our clients, and really wanting them to achieve their dreams. Our motto is ‘achieve anything’, so the things that we see our clients achieve – they mean as much to us as they do to the person.

“It’s about seeing a person end up in a career that they love, it’s about having a homeless person get a rental, it’s about seeing someone who’s had a drug addiction overcome that.”

Key was founded in 1991 by Chris Worboys who spent the next 3 decades transforming Key from a single disability employment program to an extensive community service offering first class facilities and programs developed to meet a wide range of needs.

Our services now reach from Iluka to Port Macquarie. Our team is more than 100 strong and we support more than 1200 people. Key is an Employment Service, an NDIS Provider and a Registered Training Organisation. We run a youth service and a community garden. We are proud to be the largest locally run community organisation on the Mid North Coast.

We believe that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. You’re not just another number in our system. At Key, we offer genuine support, a sense of community, and true connection. Our staff stick around, meaning you won’t be dealing with new faces every week. We listen. Together, we’ll set goals and achieve outcomes that you can be proud of.

If you have barriers to employment, if you have a disability, if you’re a young person who is not engaged in school or if you just want to chat – come in and see us here at Key, and what you will get is people that care about what you want, and how we can help you get it.
